Single Family Skyscraper, Revisited
Remember the single family skyscraper in Mumbai shown above?
Well, more information has been forthcoming since the story broke about Mukesh Ambani's mansion in the air. The Mumbai Mirror has a complete set of drawings and is reporting that the skyscraper is designed by USA firm Perkins+Will, who's website incidentally has as main navigation tab Sustainability as one out of four highlighted services.
Guess it is time to redesign their website.

Arno says:
Not only is the design itself at best elementary (looks like Perkins + Will missed the late 90's Dutch boat - or clog - which was simply a re-introduction of modernist tendencies anyhow) but it also is architecture at its worst; a manifestation of gluttony.
I don't even care if there is anything even remotely interesting about it: a single residence skyscraper, a new typology, the potential of it being green or whatever one would do to qualify such a disaster.
The rendering looks like a exercise in crayola as well.

I get the feeling there was a touch of sarcasm to Arno's comment. I am interested in what could/will be done with this, and would like to know more about the infrastructure. Is sustainability really completely out the window here?
And yes, the rendering looks like crap.

My comments above do not contain any sarcasm at all. I am serious. That thing is a turd and we all know you can't shine a turd.

Jeff says:
You could shine a turd if you throw enough money at it. Taken literally, that's actually a funny visual. Heh, poop with money sticking to it. I'd like to see that.

Arno says:
Can you still use the money if its got turd on it? Would a dude in a bodega turn down your dollar cause its green and brown??
"Your money smell of shit! Out my store!!"
You think this scenario is actually going to happen? Also, why aren't more Bodega owners Chinese like that guy?

sweetchuck says:
How come the bodega guy is capable of using "of" in one sentence but not the other? And even if he was willing to take your shit dollar, would you be willing to carry it around?
