Unsettling Photos
suiting up, originally uploaded by insky
I think I would damn near shit if I saw this outside my building (a bomb scare at Astor Place) or if I saw the 59th Street Bridge on Fire.
Today was a busy day in terms of freaky-looking near-disaster photos.

Snakes on a Plane
strange joke, originally uploaded by goopymart
Samuel L Jackson has a new film coming out about an assassin and the agent trying to protect his mark. Seems pretty normal until you know that the assassin's method of choice are? Snakes, on a plane. That's right - the assassin will import snakes onto a plane - to kill one person.
It gets better - the movie will be called Snakes on a Plane.
That's right, Snakes on a Motherfucking Plane.
This is already fast approaching Flying Spaghetti Monster levels of cult status with websites - snakesonaplane.org | not a got-damn thing you can do about it, T-Shirts, a Snakes on a Blog, a meta blog post by a script doctor who had a chance to work on SoaP, a Flickr Comic image, and all sorts of other odds and ends on del.icio.us.
I can't wait for Snakes on a Plane to debut! It will sure to become my koan:
"What's wrong?"
"Oh... nothing. Snakes on a plane..."
Comedy gold.
Late update:
Check out these Production Stills for photos of Snakes on a Plane. I just love it - I can't help saying "Snakes on a Plane" without laughing.

Terror Threat
Well, looks like my subway ride will be fun:
New York authorities stepped up security across the city on Thursday after what officials described as a specific and credible threat of a terrorist attack on the subway system in the coming days.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the FBI had alerted him to "a specific threat to our subway system," which had come from overseas but had already been partially thwarted, while some officials cast doubt on the credibility of the threat.
This is so much damned if you do, damed if you don't. I have to ride the subway (or take the bus), so here's to hoping that the NYPD and the Feds kick some butt.
