Stalemate : The current election is a stalemate

Stalemate
noun
A situation in which neither group involved in an argument can win or get an advantage and no action can be taken.

The Presidential Race of 2000 could be called a "Stalemate." Neither side wants to give up, and neither can claim victory. Again, Florida plays a pivotal role. Rutherford B. Hayes is looking down on us.
