Fag noun [C]1. A cigarette.
2. Bundle of logs
3. A homosexual
During my Yosemite trip, the group was mainly from Great Britain and Ireland. So many times I was asked, "Do you have a fag?" At first it took me back, then I realized [from my reading of the Hobbit, among other books] that they meant a cigarette. Language always amazes me when it has to transcend cultures.
